Exploring the Hidden Gems of Blue Mountains with Beyond The Blacktop Adventure Tours and Not Quite Nigella

Beyond The Blacktop Adventure Tours, a family-owned and operated tour company based in the Blue Mountains, has been taking tourists and locals alike on unique and off-road adventures for years. Recently, they had the pleasure of taking out food and travel journalist, Not Quite Nigella, on a 3-hour tour of the hidden gems and sights of the Blue Mountains.

Not Quite Nigella, also known as Lorraine Elliott, is a well-known and highly respected food and travel blogger. She was eager to see what Beyond The Blacktop Adventure Tours had to offer and was not disappointed.

The adventure started with a pick-up from her accommodation at 8am. As they set off, the owner and operator of Beyond The Blacktop Adventure Tours, Paul Davies, gave her a warm welcome and introduced her to their signature Army Truck named "Wombat". Not Quite Nigella was impressed by the unique and eye-catching vehicle and was excited to start the tour.

Paul took her to some of the less common lookouts in the Blue Mountains, away from the typical tourist spots. Not Quite Nigella was amazed by the stunning views and natural beauty of the area. She was especially impressed by Landslide Lookout, where Paul shared the fascinating story of how the mountain split and collapsed in 1931.

During the tour, they also explored the flora and fauna of the Blue Mountains. Paul pointed out the Mountain Devil plant, where the seed initially looks like two devil horns, and the white flannel flowers that proliferate along the walkway.

As they continued the tour, they reached Blackheath, where Paul showed her the spectacular Wind Eroded Cave and the incredible pattern formation. They then took a short walk to Anvil Rock, where they enjoyed the incredible views.

Throughout the tour, Paul provided interesting information about each spot they visited, making the experience even more enjoyable for Not Quite Nigella. She was impressed by Paul's knowledge and passion for the Blue Mountains and appreciated the personal touch of the small group tour.

The 3 hours flew by, and Not Quite Nigella had a wonderful time exploring the hidden gems of the Blue Mountains with Beyond The Blacktop Adventure Tours. She was so impressed with the tour that she made plans to come back and do the all-day tour of the lost city.
